Veronique del Marmol

Professor Veronique del Marmol is the Head of the Department of Dermatology at Hospital HUB (Hopital Erasme-Institut Jules Bordet), Université Libre de Bruxelles, Belgium. Skin cancer, Organ transplant recipient, inflammatory diseases, wound healing and non-invasive imaging are the main areas of interest for Professor del Marmol. In recognition of her work in these fields, she has been awarded many scholarships and grants, including the Major Roche Dermatology Fundamental Research Award. She authored and co-authored more than 239 peer reviewed articles and 8 books (H index 60 – 15147 citations) Since 2009 she is leading at the European level the European skin cancer prevention campaign EUROMELANOMA.  She is or/ has been board member of the European dermatology forum (EDF), the Academy of Dermatology and Venerology (EADV) the European Academy of Dermato-oncology (EADO) the SCOPE (Skin care for organ transplant recipient) and the European Pigment cell society (ESPCR). She is president of the Belgian society of dermatology and in 2014 she has been elected as member of the Belgian Royal Academy of Medicine.
